Sean Collinson grew up in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, New York. Sean is a proud father, and like you, he went through a divorce in 1999. He is now on the board of directors at Membership Auto.
Inspired by the mediation process, Sean decided to become a divorce and family mediator. Since then, Sean has mediated cases totaling over a billion dollars. He has mediated the divorces for many of country’s celebrities, including Bernie Williams (NY Yankees), Kristoff St. John (Young & the Restless), Alfonso Ribeiro (Fresh Prince of Bel Air), Mel Gibson, David Hasselhoff, and many others. He has mediated thousands of cases in both Family Court and Civil Law, including mediating the second largest elder abuse case in the history of Los Angeles, which resulted in a $12 million settlement.
Even though Sean has the innate ability to interact and connect with anybody, Sean pursued higher learning and mediation training from Loyola Law School’s “Mediating the Litigated Case” program, Harvard Law School’s (PON) “Harvard Negotiation Initiative Institute,” and the Florida Supreme Court’s Family Mediation Program.
Sean is unique and successful as a mediator because he approaches every mediation with the intention to save and improve people’s lives, to help them avoid the stress and damage of prolonged court experiences, and as an opportunity to touch and inspire people to transform their lives for the better, just as he has done. Sean’s excels at every situation because he has the extraordinary ability to use real talk, tough love, compassion, and inspiration to bring balance and change perceptions, so everyone walks away from their situation transformed and with an agreement everyone can live with.
